A Loving Home Changes Everything

When you adopt from Freeman-Fritts, you’re giving a dog or cat a second chance at the safe, loving home every animal deserves. Most of our pets come from Kerr County Animal Services after being found on the streets or removed from abusive situations. Without adopters like you, many would have no future.

All Freeman-Fritts animals are:

  • Spayed or neutered
  • Fully vaccinated
  • Tested for Heartworm (dogs) and FeLV/FIV (cats)
  • On heartworm and flea prevention
  • Microchipped and registered through HomeAgain
  • Evaluated and cared for by our staff, who deeply know each animal’s personality

How Adoption Works
(5 Simple Steps)

  • Browse our cats or dogs and select the pet you’re interested in.
  • Request an adoption application directly from that pet’s profile.
  • Complete and return your application. We review all applications within 24–48 hours.
  • Schedule a meet-and-greet at our shelter to ensure it’s a great fit.
  • Finalize your adoption with paperwork and fee payment.

Why Sponsor A Pet?

Some of our cats and dogs have medical conditions, behavioral needs, or ongoing care requirements that make them unlikely to be adopted. Sponsorship ensures they receive the lifelong care, comfort, and love they deserve—even if they remain with us permanently. Because some cats also require specialized diets or daily medications, having multiple sponsors can make a meaningful difference in supporting their continued care.

You can sponsor a pet for $25/month or $300/year, but any amount is appreciated.

  • Your name on the pet’s biography page and in our newsletter
  • Photos and updates about your sponsored animal
  • Visits to meet your sponsored pet
  • The joy of knowing you’re changing a life
