Adopt

Why adopt from us?

By adopting you bring into your home an animal that has no future or a poor one,  where it becomes a source of mutual love, happiness and devotion for many years. It's a win-win! We have puppies, dogs, kittens and cats that are a match for whatever your lifestyle.

Most of our animals for adoption come from Kerr County Animal Services, which picks up animals on the streets of Kerrville or from abusive situations. The best hope these animals have is to be adopted by you. If they are not, they may live out their lives with us since we are a no-kill shelter.

Unlike animals adopted from Animal Control, or off Facebook or the internet, our animals are:

  • spayed/neutered

  • have received all vaccinations

  • passed tests for Heartworm (dogs) and Feline Leukemia/FIV (cats)

  • have received heartworm and flea control

  • are Homeagain microchipped and registered.

We have already spent a lot of time, effort, and money on each animal before you even meet. Our shelter staff has gotten to know and love every one, and we specialize in perfect matches. There is an application process that takes 24-48 hours and an adoption fee.

💥💥Shelter hours at this time are Tuesday-Friday 1-4 pm.

How to adopt in 5 easy steps:

  1.  Click on a button below to find the dog or cat you are interested in adopting.

  2.  Request an application by emailing us from that animal's photo and biography.

  3.  Fill out the application (we will contact you when it has been reviewed). We require that all animals in the household be current on vaccinations, spayed, and neutered.

  4.  Meet your choice at the shelter to see if you are a good fit.

  5. Fill out the final paperwork and pay the adoption fee.

Some of our adopters are super special.  They adopt siblings, bonded pairs that have been together for a long time, animals that need extra love because of previous abuse and abandonment, and animals with chronic medical issues.  If you are one of these super special people, let us know!
