We Are in a Crisis!!
The pet overpopulation crisis in Kerr County and surrounding areas has escalated dramatically in recent weeks—and we simply cannot keep up.
Dogs and cats are pouring into local shelters at an alarming rate.
Kennels are full.
Fosters are full.
We are bursting at the seams. Yet the animals keep coming.
Situations like this cost lives—and we are terrified it’s only going to get worse.
Just last week, Kerr County Animal Control took in more than 20 animals in a single day into an already full facility. Thankfully, many were moved quickly into rescue, and we were able to step in and help. But that relief was only temporary. There are many more animals waiting in the wings.
We need our community now more than ever.

What can you do?
Adopt, don’t shop.
Visit our website (www.freemanfritts.com) and view the dogs and cats in our care.
Every adoption opens space to save another life.
Please also check our other local rescues:
Hill Country SPCA(now- Hill Country Animal Rescue), Texas Roundup Alliance, and Kathleen C Cailloux Humane Society.
All are working tirelessly to find homes for animals who just keep coming.
Share our posts.
If you have social media accounts, share, share, share.
You never know which share may reach the right person.
Visibility saves lives. The more people who see these animals, the better their chances of finding homes.
Volunteer. Sign up—it’s easy.
The more positive exposure dogs and cats have to different people, the more adoptable they become—and it makes their time in care more enjoyable.
Donate.
Without funding, we simply cannot do what we do.
And most importantly of all:
Spay and neuter your dogs and cats.
Spread the word. Talk about it. Help is out there.
We cannot “rescue” our way out of this.
This crisis requires all of us, working together, to create real and lasting change.
