Freeman Fritts Is Starting the Year Off With a Bang

Our team has worked tirelessly to care for animals, support pet owners, and create brighter futures for pets of all kinds.

The new year is already off to a strong start at Freeman Fritts Animal Shelter. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we truly started 2026 off with a bang, making a meaningful impact for animals both inside the shelter and throughout the community.

During January and February combined, ourteam worked tirelessly to care for animals, support pet owners, and create brighter futures for pets of all kinds.

Impact Numbers

• 63 Rescues

Our work began with 63 rescued animal intakes in need of help. Because to us, all lives matter.

• 60 Adoptions & Rescue Placements

Sixty animals found second chances through adoptions and placements with trusted rescue partners.

• 313 Spay & Neuter Surgeries

Spay and neuter remains one of the most effective ways to reduce pet overpopulation. Through our programs and partnerships, 313 pets received these important surgeries in the first two months of the year.

• 65 Microchips Implanted

Microchips give lost pets their best chance of finding their way home. Sixty-five animals now have that added protection thanks to our team.

• 273 Community Families & Pets Supported

Beyond the animals in our care, we remain committed to helping pets stay with the families who love them. Through resources, guidance, and assistance programs, we were able to support 273 families and their pets.

Every number represents a life touched — an animal helped, a family supported, and a community strengthened.

If we keep up this pace, we are on track to exceed the numbers from the past two years, which is an incredible testament to what can happen when a community comes together to support animals in need.

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who makes this work possible and look forward to continuing this momentum throughout the rest of the year as we work together to improve the lives of animals in our community.
