Help us Help our
Four-Legged Friends

The Staff and Board are committed to AWS/Freeman-Fritts, and you will see us fighting the fight each day either through our low-cost Veterinary Clinic (helping the pets with low-cost vaccinations and health care) or our low-cost Spay/Neuter Clinic (reducing the number of unwanted pets that are euthanized at the local Animal Control or running the streets, starving, hit by cars, or worse... if there is anything worse).
You might see us at the local Animal Control, scooping up as many innocent puppies and kittens as we can and bringing them back to our Shelter to put up for adoption.  Or perhaps we are manning a booth at offsite adoption days or Market Days on the Courthouse Square where we make people aware of what we do at AWS/Freeman-Fritts.
Do you want to help us in this fight?  You can.  Frankly, it costs a lot of money to rescue animals, to provide our low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to the public, and to keep the Clinic going.  We rely heavily on donations from the public to keep AWS/Freeman-Fritts open.  We are so busy doing this work that we don't have time to do fundraisers, fancy dinners or dances, golf tournaments, or auctions.  We wish we had time to do all this, but right now we feel like doing what we do is more important because it has an impact directly on the animals on a daily basis. We also work to supply special pricing to other area Rescues who are fighting the fight right along side of us.  So, when you support AWS/Freeman-Fritts with your donations, you not only help us but you help them also!

Some ways you can help
In the fall of 2008, we added a Shelter Wing onto our existing Clinic with generous donations from the Kerr County community and a grant from a  Foundation.  In 2009, we adopted out a record number of 210 pets.  That is 210 pets that were not euthanized at the local Animal Control.   So far, in 2010, we are well on the way to surpassing that number.  Donations to our Shelter Fund enable us to continue saving the lives of many dogs and cats in Kerr County.

Other ways you can help is by donating to our Special Spay/Neuter Program.  This enables us to offer free or even deeper discounted spay/neuter programs a couple times a year to the public.  If you would like to earmark your gift to this account, please mark your donation as "Spay/Neuter Program".

Also, you can donate to our bi-annual rummage sale!  This sale helps fund our organization year-round.  If you have any unwanted items just hanging around your house or garage let us know, spring cleaning will be just around the corner!

Remember, Animal Welfare Society is a 501(c) (3) Non-Profit Organization and all donations are tax deductible. Please let us know if you would like a receipt.  We invite everyone to come over for a tour to see how the donations are being used.
